SECURITY TEAM UPDATE
We are pleased to inform you of an upcoming change regarding our security service provider. The School’s contract with Securitas Thailand will conclude on 30th April and a new security company, PCS, will commence services on 1st May.
We are grateful for the continued patience and support from our community and we trust that the new security provider will uphold the high standards of safety and service that the School strives for. As part of our commitment to improving campus security, we have increased the number of traffic personnel—two officers will now be stationed at the main road and two at the admin parking area.
Please be advised that with this transition, enhanced security measures will be implemented. We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding during this period of adjustment.
EARTHQUAKE APPEAL
We would like to say a huge thank you to our School community for the generous donations made for the recent Myanmar earthquake appeal. We raised 103,457 THB which is being donated to the Red Cross Emergency Fund to support the victims of the earthquake. Thank you for supporting us in Making A Difference on a local, national and global scale and thank you also to Mrs Johnson for leading this campaign.
RICE CHALLENGE UPDATE
Thank you to each and everyone of our families who donated rice for our annual Rice Challenge. The entire MAD team was thrilled with the amount of rice that we collected, and that is all thanks to you.
Congratulations to the Senior School who were the winners of this year's challenge and collected the most amount of rice, with Pre-Prep a close second and Prep third. Together we all made a big difference.
Thank you again and we look forward to next year's Rice Challenge.

RSTPA UNIFORM SWAP
The recent uniform swap organised by our RSTPA was a huge success, raising 6000 THB in total. We saw many of our Senior and Prep parents attending and are very grateful for all the contributions made.
POST HOLIDAY SCREEN USE
Balanced, purposeful screen use from our children can be difficult at any time. Post holidays can put even more strain on this goal. Just like we encourage a balanced diet with different kinds of foods, we can also encourage a balanced "media diet" for our children. Some screen time is for learning, some for connecting with friends and some for unwinding. The key is to help our children be mindful and purposeful in their digital choices, rather than passively consuming whatever comes their way.
Post holidays can be a great time to reset and reinforce healthy digital habits. Here are three practical tips from our Digital Learning website to help:
- Establish Tech Zones: Designate specific areas at home where devices can be used. This puts the emphasis on using tech properly, rather than a 'don't use' policy which can create family tension.
- Develop Family Tech Agreements: Involve your children in creating guidelines for device use. This might include when devices can be used, expectations for online behaviour and agreed-upon timeframes for certain activities. Collaborative agreements that you follow too can lead to more successful results.
- Use Media Mentor to Understand Your Child's Digital Activities: Instead of just tracking screen time, show interest in what your children are doing online. Ask them about their games, videos or apps. Resources like Media Mentor on our website offer information about online content and can help you start conversations about their digital experiences
Adopting healthy device habits is an ongoing conversation, not a one-time fix. By focusing on purpose and engaging with our children, we can help them develop a balanced and positive relationship with technology, both now and in the future.

WHOLE ME: WELLNESS SESSION WITH DANNY BARTLETT
As part of our ongoing Whole Me programme, which supports student wellbeing, our Sixth Form students had the opportunity this week to learn from Danny Bartlett, TRX Senior Master Instructor and Global Fitness Educator. Visiting from Dubai, Danny brought with him a wealth of knowledge on how young people can make small but powerful changes to improve both their physical and mental wellbeing - especially during the high-pressure exam season. Students were introduced to the 6 Pillars of Health and Wellness: Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, Nature, Community and Breathwork – and were led in a focused deep dive into the top-three most relevant for exam success: Sleep, Nutrition and Exercise.
Danny emphasised the importance of quality sleep for memory, emotional regulation and concentration, offering actionable tips like avoiding screens before bed, using a traditional alarm clock and maintaining a cool and dark sleep environment. For nutrition, he highlighted the brain-boosting power of whole foods, recommending omega-3 rich sources, leafy greens, wholegrains and berries for optimal mental performance and energy. Lastly, he underscored the benefits of daily exercise, even just 30 minutes, for improved memory and focus. He also introduced a powerful revision technique: incorporating short bursts of HIIT after focused study to enhance brain function and information retention.
Beyond these core pillars, Danny touched on the fascinating connection between music and memory, suggesting that ambient music can aid concentration during study and that pairing specific music with subjects might even boost memory consolidation during sleep. The session provided our Sixth Form students with valuable, evidence-based tools to proactively manage their wellbeing as they navigate the exam season.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Danny for sharing his expertise and empowering our students with these impactful strategies.

A MESSAGE FROM MISS SARAH
Sawasdee Pee Mai to all of our families.
Welcome back after the Songkran holidays, I trust that everyone had a lovely time. The children have been full of tales of adventures and trips (Japan seemed to be a favourite, alongside the UK and even a visit to Rugby School UK) and it has been great to witness their excitement as they see their friends again. We welcomed eight new families to School this term and the children have been really supportive of their new friends.
We have the usual array of events and activities packed into Term 3 (please see the events calendar) and we hope to see you all at some of these events. Our key celebrations will be a Performing Arts Show - a combination of dance and music, and our Year 2 Leavers' Show. This term also brings transition meetings as we help you and your children prepare for the next stage of their education.
We introduced some new building blocks to KS1 playtime and saw fantastic Teamwork Tigers in action. They have been making garden furniture, puzzles and a whole range of creative things. We have also had the lego board repaired and of course have the KitBlox out. One of the things we love to see is the way children work as a team and how they bring out each others' creative sides.
We are very much looking forward to a fun and productive term.

SPOTLIGHT ON INTENSIVE ENGLISH
Our children have been keeping busy in their Intensive English classes recently. Mr Roger's Year 1 class are exploring their new topic 'Transport and Vehicles' with a focus on writing informative sentences and punctuating them with capital letters and full-stops. After learning about airplanes and cars, children got creative in the Soft Play room and showed us all how to be amazing Teamwork Tigers.
Meanwhile, the Exploring Eagles of Mr Declan’s class embarked on an exciting journey to discover vowels and their sounds. They explored different vowel sound graphemes and took their learning outside for phonics vocabulary hunts around the Oval, searching for words with vowel sounds in the world around us. The Creative Chameleons got hands-on by making ‘Vowel Hands’; a fun and creative way to remember all the vowels. To bring all their learning together, they painted the words they found during the vocabulary hunts with some beautiful visuals and used these words to build sentences.

BOARDING OPTIONS IN TERM 3
With exams approaching for many of our students this term, we wanted to remind our families just how useful it could be to make the most of the structure, routine and contact with teachers that is on offer through our award winning boarding programme.
There is no better time to be a boarder than in Term 3 when there are public examinations, as this is a time when students require help from staff and can benefit from the good order provided by being around other students who are striving for the same goals. Students work hard within the framework boarding provides and have access to everything they need, including the ability to see teachers ‘out of hours’ and to benefit from extra help; all of this without the stress of the daily commute and with device usage and bedtimes sensibly regulated.
If you are interested in boarding for your child for Term 3, or even just for the period of time around your child’s examinations, please do reach out to Mr Ennis-Billing dennisbilling@rugbyschool.ac.th and we can discuss flexible boarding options to suit your individual family’s needs.
