ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR
We are disappointed to announce that our annual Christmas Fair will not go ahead this year. Both the School and the RSTPA recognise that the event has become too large for us to safely manage, particularly with the associated Health and Safety risks and liability issues involved, as well as the cost of external companies. We will continue to explore alternative options for the future and appreciate your support.
46th SEA AQUATICS - NATIONAL TEAM
We are incredibly proud to announce that talented swimmer, Lilly (Year 8), has been selected to represent Thailand and join the National Team at the 46th SEA Aquatics 2024. This is an historic achievement for Lilly, as she becomes the first ever student from our School to reach National Team level. Lilly will swim in her specialist stroke, the 100 and 200 metre breaststroke.
This achievement is a huge step forward for Lilly, her family and the entire School Swim Team. Please join us in congratulating her.

HOUSE DRAMA HIGHLIGHTS
A wide range of House performances took place towards the end of last half term with over 200 students performing and helping backstage, across the Day and Boarding Houses, to deliver our largest House Drama Performance in the Veraphan Theatre, based upon Carol Ann Duffy's 'More Grimm Tales'.
Led by our House Drama Sixths and Captains, the students went on to retell six very different traditional fairy tales. Highlights included the enthused Pantomime retelling of 'Snow White' by School House, a stunning 'Musicians of Bremen' by Town House (complete with Brechtian elements, music and shadow puppetry), as well as Sheriff House and their modern retelling of 'Rumplestiltskin' full of gold and original raps. The girls' Houses equally showcased a very high standard with lavish sets from Southfield with 'Hansel and Gretel', Tudor House delivered a new musically-devised retelling of 'Red Riding Hood' and Rupert Brooke wowed with their aspirational set, costume and use of dance in a traditional performance of 'Cinderella'.
The event was popularly received over two afternoons with the different Houses watching on. Head of Senior Drama, Mr Furness, welcomed our judge Ms Davies, Head of Prep Drama, to an entirely student-led production including all directing, set, music, tech and choreography. This was a fun and full audience as we welcomed back the live performances delivering our Houses diverse and creative spirits. Many weeks of additional House activities, breaktimes and evenings spent rehearsing was paid off as the students showcased their many strengths.
Make sure to check back next week for the results announcement!

YEAR 3 KHAI JIEW CREATIONS
As part of their International Day celebrations, our Year 3 students had a fantastic time crafting their very own 'My Khai Jiew' menus. With a variety of ingredients, they planned and prepared unique versions of this popular Thai omelette, such as Khai Jiew with spring onion, Khai Jiew Moo Sab, and even their signature dish, the delicious 'Khai Jiew Year 3.'
This fun activity allowed students to share cooking experiences together and also gave them an opportunity to brush up on their Thai language learning, enhancing their writing skills and understanding of high-class consonant tones. It was a wonderful and much enjoyed blend of culinary creativity and academic enrichment.

LANGUAGE WEDNESDAYS
Our first 'Language Wednesday' was off to a fantastic start this week with a warm welcome to School in Thai. The usual 'Good Morning' was instead replaced with the Thai greeting of 'Arun Sawat'. Each Wednesday, children and parents will be welcomed in a different language to showcase and reflect the languages of our community. Language posters are displayed in each class so that the children can become familiar with the different greetings.
We truly are an international community and feel grateful to be able to share these learning moments with our children and families. Next week, we will be greeting you in Korean.
EAL YOUNG INTERPRETER SCHEME
Over the past six weeks of their Young Interpreter Scheme (YIS) course, our young interpreters have gradually become excellent role models to others. Through their dedicated participation, these kind and responsible Year 2 children have not only honed their language skills (and learned some new languages too) but also developed valuable qualities such as empathy, compassion and active listening. They have become reliable and supportive friends to both new arrivals and those new to English in the School, ensuring they feel understood, safe and welcome. The young interpreters have been wearing their badges with pride, embodying the School's commitment to inclusivity and demonstrating the positive impact of peer support.
KINDNESS MONTH
Our MAD Juniors have a very exciting new project for the month of November - a whole month of kindness. We will be helping everyone to establish the Koala Way even more in our classrooms and have put together lots of ideas to carry out a small 'act of kindness' challenge for each day that children can tick off together. Kindness is always important and we can all be kind, together.
You can find our kindness calendar below and also head to our Facebook and Instagram page to watch a special video put together by our MAD Juniors.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FUN
We ended the first half term with our super exciting International Day Parade and Food Market. It was incredible to see so many amazing costumes throughout the parade - many thanks to our parents for their wonderful efforts. The children spent the day learning about different countries and cultures, watching several fantastic performances from our Korean, Thai and British communities and had a spectacular time trying all of the delicious food on offer at our Food Market. We are so grateful to all of the parents who provided a table at the Food Market - it was a wonderful experience for our children.
