UWE MEMORY THEORY LECTURE
This week we had the pleasure of hosting Dr Fay Lewis and Dr Karan Vickers-Hulse from the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. As academics from the School of Education and Childhood (within the College of Health, Science and Society), Dr Lewis and Dr Vickers-Hulse delivered an engaging and thought-provoking lecture on Memory Theory, tailored to inspire both staff and students.
Their presentation delved into the academic research surrounding memory theory, offering practical techniques that can enhance students' revision strategies. The audience, including our psychology students who found particular relevance in the discussion, were introduced to concepts like metacognition - the awareness and regulation of one’s thought processes.
We would like to extend a warm thank you to Dr Lewis, Dr Vickers-Hulse, and the UWE Bristol team for their continued support and inspiring contributions to our learning community.
LXX AND E BLOCK ART TRIP
Our LXX (Year 12) and E Block (Year 10) students embarked on an Art trip to the Sanctuary of Truth and Anek Kusala Sala. The trip formed part of their coursework project and was an opportunity to gather drawings and photographs of the museum and temple. Students explored the inside and outside of both venues and produced some detailed drawings which they could then use once back in the studios at School. The trip was a great success and the students thoroughly enjoyed their day.

ODD SOCKS DAY
As part of our kindness month for November, on Odd Socks day, the MAD Juniors are encouraging children to donate used shoes. Your used shoes can put a smile on someone else's face, so please take part in our shoe donation drive and help us make a difference.
All shoe donations will go to the Hand to Hand Foundation who will then ensure that the shoes are given out to our local community in Pattaya. Scan the QR code to watch a special video from the MAD Juniors.
RECEPTION CLASSES
Thank you to everyone in Reception for encouraging their children to come to School by themselves. So many of them did really well this week. If they still need a little support to get to the classroom, we are here to help. Well done everyone.
Reminders
LOY KRATHONG
Children are welcome to come to School dressed in Thai traditional clothing and parents are invited to join our celebrations on Thursday, 14th November from 8:30-9:00am.
HOLIDAYS
Family holidays are best kept to the School holidays to avoid children missing School. We appreciate that there may be some special reasons at times, but we are finding several families taking leave mid-term and thus children are absent. The School holidays are reasonably long so please do try to keep holidays to within these times to avoid disruption to learning.
PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN IN SCHOOL
We would like to remind you that taking photos of children during the School day is not permitted for safeguarding reasons. During special events we do allow parents to take photographs and videos, however at other times this is not acceptable. Our policies are designed to keep children safe and parents are expected to follow these policies.

SPORTS RECAP
This past weekend provided the conclusion to Season One for many of our seasonal sports teams. Over the weekend, more than 300 students pulled on their RST Lightning shirts, most of whom braved the early morning transport in order to do so.
The weekend began with a very early start to get to ISB for BMAC Cross Country. RST excelled as a small squad made big waves with wins for Ava (Y6), Mick (Y7) and Nina (Y13) winning their respective races. We were also team champions in Senior Boys and U11 Girls (our only full five runner squads).
The swimmers were also in action in Bangkok, at NIST Falcons Swim Xtreme with events from 50m up to 1500m. Our swimmers were on fine form producing a mass of PBs and medal-worthy performances. Congratulations to Landon (Y5) and Paul (Y7) for winning top World Aquatics awards in their age group.
It was also the final weekend of BISA for Season One. On Saturday, the conclusion of both U9/11 Football and U13/15 Basketball across a range of schools in Bangkok saw all teams having a fantastic time competing against the top British Schools in the city. Our U9 girls were crowned champions over at HIS - well done!
Finally, to round off the busy weekend, we had the BISA U19 Football at home. Our students equipped themselves well, with the boys taking 2nd place and the girls coming in 5th overall.
Well done to all for a truly fantastic weekend of sport.
