ACOUSTIC GUITAR CLUB
The Acoustic Guitar Club has been a popular activity choice where students come together to explore melodies, refine their technique and enjoy the art of playing the guitar. With a mix of beginners and more experienced players, sessions are filled with strumming, picking and the occasional impromptu jam. Students get to select what pieces they would like to work on including both classic acoustic pieces and modern favourites, developing confidence in their playing while honing essential skills. The club, run by Dr Woodward, provides a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, where students can share tips, experiment with different styles and build their musical repertoire.

DIGITAL MEDIA AND DESIGN TRIP
Our creative AS and A Level Digital Media and Design students took a day trip to Bangkok before half term to explore the Talat Noi neighbourhood. Their aim was to gather together photographic and film research for their upcoming work. After visiting the historic Talat Noi neighbourhood, students visited the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre to experience the Biernale exhibition alongside other interesting forms of art and photography. It is always a pleasant experience visiting the city and seeing life through a different lens.

HOUSE CHESS
Last week saw the inaugural House Chess competition with students from F Block to XX competing against each other across 5 intense rounds of blitz chess. Many excellent games were played across the competition with students trying their best to outwit their opponents and win points for their House, some playing with limited experience but demonstrating great sportsmanship. Students showcased their House spirit alongside their respect for each other and the game with spectators (silently) cheering on their House, and sharing words of encouragement and support between rounds. The much-anticipated results will be announced in the next Whole School assembly.

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL
With over 100 days of School behind us, it has been so rewarding to see the children's growth as they navigate the School with confidence, comfortably approaching staff for assistance and interacting with peers. Their increased resilience is evident in how they manage separation from their carers upon arrival and are able to demonstrate an understanding of School rules and routines. The most striking development is their English communication. We have overheard many conversations at lunch and playtime which demonstrates their remarkable language progress and we are particularly delighted by their eagerness to ask questions and seek information. The children are happy to engage their teachers and particularly Miss Sarah, in conversations about everything from their hairstyles to their dietary choices, providing invaluable opportunities to practice speaking and listening in English.
This inquisitive spirit is key to their learning, so please continue encouraging your children to ask questions.
We also celebrated 100 days of School by kicking things off with a maths-themed Wake and Shake, getting everyone energised and ready for the day. The day was filled with fun, exciting maths games and plenty of learning. The costumes were also absolutely amazing and it was truly a fantastic way to mark this milestone - here’s to many more days of fun and learning ahead.

MAD JUNIORS' LATEST PROJECT
The MAD Juniors have come up with an excellent plan to make playtimes even more fun by making up different interactive games that everyone can play together. They brainstormed about different games that were easy to understand and fun to play. They had many ideas which Miss Lurica helped them with by writing the instructions and also took pictures of what the games look like to make sure they were inclusive and that everyone could understand. The project was a big success on the playground and we saw many friends being Go for it Gorillas and trying out new games on the playground.

FIRST SWIMMING COMPETITION
Our Year 1 and 2 swimmers made a splash at the Bangkok Prep Puppy Dash in late January, diving into their very first competitive swimming event. They showed incredible determination and skill, impressing everyone with their hard work and earning a fantastic collection of medals. This was a brilliant start to their competitive journey, and we're thrilled to see their enthusiasm and progress in the pool. Congratulations to all our young swimmers for their outstanding performance.

RECEPTION BIKES TO SCHOOL
Last week, our Reception classes took part in 'Bikes to School' week. The children had a fantastic time testing their balancing skills, exploring body control and learning how to manage space around them while riding. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to build confidence and enjoy the outdoors. Safety was our top priority, and all the children wore helmets throughout the activities. A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this week such a fun and educational experience.

RECEPTION TRIP TO DINOSAUR KINGDOM
Our Reception children had such a fantastic time on their recent trip to Dinosaur Kingdom. The children had so much fun digging for dinosaur bones in the sand, cuddling baby dinosaurs, feeding the fish and exploring the animal enclosures. After all the excitement, a delicious lunch was enjoyed together. It was a fantastic adventure that left everyone smiling—and very tired. A huge thank you to all who made it possible.

SPORTS UPDATE
RST sport leaped straight back into action with many big events taking place over the last week. Thank you to all the staff and students for making these events possible.
U15 RST Football Invitational
5 boys and 5 girls teams competed in the Saturday morning heat in a 9-a-side football tournament held at our School. The boys recovered from a first round 4-0 loss to eventually lose 1-0 in the final against the same team. The girls played well throughout the tournament but unfortunately lost in the final where they were narrowly beaten by Wisdom Academy 2-1. Two second-place finishes for the RST teams were credible results against strong competition.
U18 Girls Basketball Tournament at ASB
Our U18 girls team entered an out-of-season tournament and travelled to ASB GV for basketball fixtures. The girls at full strength, competed well and eventually overcame a tough semi-final loss to finish overall in third place.
