Their work demonstrates key skills in planning and presenting creative ideas, from observational studies to artist research and personal responses.

To conclude the academic year, students ventured into the fascinating world of "Bio-Art," creating detailed Species Boxes. Each student selected a species for study, producing a stunning collection of illustrations, anatomical drawings, skeletal studies and photography. This segment of the exhibition highlights both the rigour of their research and the imaginative depth of their artistic responses.

YEARS 7 AND 8 CAREERS DAYS: SPARKING CURIOSITY, BUILDING SKILLS, INSPIRING FUTURES
Over two action-packed days, our Year 7 and 8 students took their first steps into the world of careers with fun, fast-paced and hands-on learning experiences during our annual Careers Days.

Designed to spark early curiosity and build foundational skills, these immersive sessions gave students the chance to explore career-connected challenges in a meaningful and memorable way. Activities were carefully crafted to align with the Gatsby Benchmarks, focusing on building career awareness, linking curriculum to the world of work and developing essential life skills.

Highlights included:

- The Young Apprentice Challenge, where students worked in house teams to design and deliver a 90-second business pitch for a new idea in the environment, health or education sector - with the goal of making a positive impact on their community.

- A high-energy Careers and Skills Carousel, featuring four rotating challenges:

  • Career Quest Treasure Hunt - exploring different job sectors through clues and teamwork

  • Bridge the Gap – an engineering task testing innovation and collaboration

  • Rescue Relay – a physical teamwork challenge focused on emergency services

  • Toxic Waste Transfer – a problem-solving and crisis-management simulation

These challenges developed teamwork, critical thinking, resilience, creativity and leadership skills, while encouraging students to reflect on real-world roles such as engineers, medics, researchers, entrepreneurs and sustainability consultants.

We were delighted to have support from our LXX Levée students, who helped facilitate the sessions and acted as mentors throughout the event - building valuable connections and collaboration between year groups.

A huge thank you also goes to Mr Grindlay, Mr Bacon (School Governor) and all the staff who supported and judged the activities across both days. Their presence and encouragement added real-world authenticity to the experience for our younger students.

Students worked in house-based teams, wore their colours with pride and demonstrated impressive engagement, courage and camaraderie throughout both days.

By offering such opportunities early in their School Journey, we are equipping students with the tools to explore their identities, interests and potential pathways - all while having a lot of fun. It’s never too early to begin shaping the future.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Higher Education and Careers team.

Sport

Over the weekend while our School campus hosted Bangkok FC for a 122 team football tournament, our volleyball players and swimmers were busy competing at MIS and Bangkok Patana respectively. Last week also saw the finals of the U15 BKK rugby 7s series. Here is a closer look at some of the highlights:

U15/16 Volleyball Takes on MIS and REPs

Our U15/16 boys and girls volleyball teams demonstrated fantastic grit and skill in a series of closely contested matches against teams from MIS and REPs. Both our boys and girls squads secured a commendable one win and one loss, showcasing valuable experience and providing a significant opportunity for growth on the court. A special mention must go to our Year 8 students who stepped up admirably to support the teams, displaying a maturity and skill level well beyond their years. It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning of sport and development for all involved.

2-Day Summer Sizzler at Bangkok Patana

Our swimmers made a huge splash at the swim meet, delivering a host of new personal bests and an impressive medal haul. More importantly, the event was filled with smiles, strong team spirit, and memorable experiences that truly highlight the essence of RST sport. A special mention goes to Rebecca Ronconni, who swam in her final meet for RST. Rebecca has been a fantastic representative of our swimming programme, and we thank her for her dedication and contributions over the years.

U15 Rugby 7s Series Finals at NIST

Last week saw our U15 rugby team compete in the finals of the Rugby 7s Series, hosted at NIST International School. The competition brought together four strong schools in what proved to be a thrilling conclusion to a hard-fought series. The RST students played well winning one match and narrowly losing two others in closely contested games. Each performance reflected the team’s growth in skill and confidence and our students have gained valuable match experience for the future.

Congratulations and thank you to all of our athletes and staff for another fantastic sporting week.
