SECURITY NOTICE
As part of our ongoing commitment to campus safety, we will be transitioning fully to Number Plate Recognition (NPR) for vehicle access from August 2025. This means that car window stickers will no longer be issued or used to identify current parents, guardians or staff. Access will be granted exclusively to vehicles registered in our NPR system, making the old sticker system obsolete.
We are pleased to report that most families have already registered their vehicles. If you still need to register or update your vehicle details, please click here.
In addition, a valid School ID card may also be used at vehicle checkpoints. ID cards should be worn visibly by all adults whilst on campus, so please ensure you always carry yours.
If you need assistance updating or replacing your school ID card, please contact us at admissions@rugbyschool.ac.th or visit the reception desk.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we work to enhance security across our School community.

ALUMNI ART EXHIBITION
We are thrilled to celebrate the success of one of our talented alumni, Tatiana (Tanya), who graduated from our School in 2021. Tanya will be exhibiting her sculpture work in a public show at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) from the 17th to 29th June 2025, open daily from 10am to 8pm.
After completing her A Levels at RST, Tanya pursued her passion for the arts at Chulalongkorn University, studying in the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, with a major in Sculpture. She has now successfully graduated with her bachelor’s degree and is preparing for the next step in her journey: gaining teaching experience in Thailand before applying for a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), beginning in July 2026.
Tanya is Russian by nationality but has lived in Thailand for the past 16 years and is fluent in Thai. Her multicultural background and creative perspective have shaped a unique artistic voice - one that will be on display in her upcoming exhibition.
We are immensely proud of Tanya’s achievements and excited to see where her creativity, resilience and global outlook will take her next. Tanya's story is a powerful reminder of how RST graduates go on to do extraordinary things, both locally and globally.
Be sure to visit the BACC between 17th and 29th June to experience Tanya’s work for yourself and celebrate another RST graduate success story.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL
We are thrilled to celebrate the phenomenal success of our Key Stage 3 production of Disney's High School Musical, which captivated over 700 audience members, including Year 7, 8 and 9 students, as well as our four evening parent audiences.

Their passion, energy and teamwork truly brought the beloved story of East High to life on stage, filling the theatre with feel-good vibes and show-stopping performances.
This year's production marks our largest KS3 show to date, a testament to the growing talent and enthusiasm within our Drama and Music departments. Mr Furness and Mr Sunderland extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their dedication and hard work, which made this production an unforgettable experience for all.
We are delighted to share moments from both casts:

LXX ENTERPRISE
Last week, seven enthusiastic LXX students from our School, accompanied by Mrs Pearce and Dr Field, travelled to Phuket to advance a crucial enterprise project that had been temporarily postponed. This dedicated team is proudly part of the Equity Partnership Schools Network, showcasing their commitment to innovative business development.
Their journey began with an inspiring visit to the Baan Ar-Jor Museum and Homestay. Here, students immersed themselves in the rich local cultural heritage, gathering valuable creative inspiration that will inform the design of their high-end enterprise products, including bespoke soaps and beautifully designed Batik scent bags.
Following this, the team proceeded to Hong Yok Bumrung School for a vibrant and productive cultural exchange. Working collaboratively alongside local students, our LXX entrepreneurs participated in engaging marketing workshops and hands-on Batik design sessions. This interaction facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences, significantly bringing their business concepts to life.
This trip represents a major milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. With their business pitches now completed and product designs nearing finalisation, the students are eagerly preparing to launch their products for sale on Shopee. Their ultimate goal is to compete in the prestigious National Enterprise Competition, where we are confident their dedication and ingenuity will shine. We wish them the very best in this exciting venture!

SIXTH FORM TRANSITION PROGRAMME
This week, our D Block students embarked on a comprehensive two-day transition programme in the Collingwood Centre, marking a crucial step in their journey towards Sixth Form. Designed as a launchpad for success in higher education and the wider world, the programme provided a holistic introduction to Sixth Form life. Students engaged in activities promoting self-reflection, explored future pathways with insights from Higher Education advisors and academic leaders, participated in A-Level taster sessions and learned about well-being support and enrichment opportunities. The event also included an invaluable session for parents, complemented by our new Student Leaders, the Levée, who offered guidance to both students and parents. These transition days have successfully illuminated the path ahead, reinforcing our School's personalised approach to university preparation.

CLIMATE INNOVATORS: GLOBAL THINKING, LOCAL ACTION
Future RST Sixth Form students recently took part in Climate Innovators: Global Thinking, Local Action - a dynamic workshop exploring how sustainability intersects with every career pathway.
In mixed Year 11 and 12 groups, students engaged with 12 thought-provoking 'Big Questions' inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They tackled challenges such as:
- How can we create sustainable food systems that end hunger and protect the environment?
- How can new technologies and infrastructure drive sustainable development?
To add an exciting twist, selected students assumed secret roles as spies and disruptors, injecting energy and strategy into their collaboration. All teams presented bold and thoughtful solutions, demonstrating that sustainability is relevant across all fields of study and future careers. The event also featured a student-led Supra Curricular Showcase, where Year 12 students shared how pursuing independent academic interests beyond the classroom enhances university applications and personal growth.
We were honoured to welcome Dr Kamran Yunis from the University of Cambridge, who delivered an inspiring session on how Cambridge students are trained to approach 'Big Questions' with curiosity, clarity and purpose - a mindset our students are encouraged to develop. It was a day filled with creativity, challenge and meaningful learning - equipping our students to become the next generation of global change makers.

THAI CULTURE TRIP
F Block students from both our School and Rugby School UK recently embarked on a fascinating cultural immersion trip to the Takian Tia community. They explored the local way of life, with a particular focus on the coconuts as a vital economic crop of the community. Students learned how various parts of the coconut are utilised, from creating beautiful tie-dyed fabrics using coconut husks and mangosteen peel, to painting soap holders crafted from coconut shells. A highlight was the hands-on experience of making traditional Thai Kanom Tom, by grating fresh coconut and then shaping, boiling and finally tasting their delicious creations. Adding to the rich cultural tapestry, students also enjoyed a session of Thai traditional dance, learning basic moves and the enchanting Ramwong Loy Krathong and Songkran dances, complete with dressing up in vibrant traditional Thai costumes. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the garden homes and observing unique traditional Thai houses and tools, it was a truly enjoyable and memorable educational experience for all the students involved.

THAI CULTURE WORKSHOP
The Thai Department hosted an engaging workshop for F Block students from Rugby School UK, offering a fantastic immersion into Thai culture. Students explored various facets of Thailand, learning about the national anthem, flag and the world's longest capital city name. Hands-on activities included personalising name tags, picking up simple Thai phrases and sampling delicious Thai desserts and fruits. They also enthusiastically tried traditional Thai musical instruments. A particular highlight was crafting traditional Thai toys, like weaving fish and snakes from coconut leaves and the highly popular garland-making session. The workshop was a truly enjoyable experience for all, concluding with appreciative smiles and heartfelt Thai 'Khob Khun ka/krab', marking a truly enriching cultural experience.

YEAR 3 ARTWORK AT THE OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE
We are delighted to share the impressive work of our Year 3 students, who recently engaged in a captivating project at our Outdoor Education Centre (OEC), drawing inspiration from renowned artist, Andy Goldsworthy.
During their time at the OEC, our students explored the concept of creating art using only natural materials found in their immediate surroundings. This hands-on experience allowed them to craft truly unique and special pieces that celebrated the inherent beauty of our campus's natural environment.
It was inspiring to see their creativity flourish as they connected with the natural world, demonstrating imaginative problem-solving and a deep appreciation for nature. This project not only enhanced their artistic skills but also gave our students a greater understanding of environmental art and the transient beauty found in nature.

HOUSE DAY HIGHLIGHTS
House Day was a fantastic celebration of community and spirit. Students spent the morning engaged in a variety of House-based activities during lessons, working together and representing their Houses with pride. At lunchtime, the dining hall was a sea of colour as each House gathered for a shared meal, strengthening friendships across year groups. The afternoon saw the School come alive with music as students took part in high-energy House Music rehearsals—full of singing, movement and excitement. A joyful day of teamwork, creativity and House pride.

BIG QUIZ OF THE YEAR
Last Wednesday, Years 5 to 8 were treated to some post-exam light entertainment in the form of… The Big Quiz of The Year! The top try scorers from each House battled it out onstage, identifying mystery students, random School locations and unpicking photo mashups. This was interspersed with goofy physical challenges and whole House collaboration; Mexican waves were wafted, staff’s secret skills were revealed, current affairs were contemplated and this year’s pop hits were pumped out. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect and celebrate all that it means to be RST … and to remind ourselves not to take life too seriously.

TRANSITION PROGRAMME
Throughout this term, we have held transition presentations for all of our years groups. We were delighted to see so many parents joining us to learn about the next steps for their children. RECEPTION'S SPACE ADVENTURE
Our young explorers in Reception recently embarked on a captivating journey to the Veraphan Theatre, which was transformed into a dazzling cosmic wonderland for their latest adventure!
Under the soft glow of simulated stars, the children gathered for an enchanting story about Martin the Space Dog, a brave canine who soared through the universe on thrilling missions. Our little astronauts then joined in singing a selection of space-themed songs, adding to the immersive experience.
The grand finale of their adventure was a mesmerising dance party with light sticks, creating a galaxy of colours as they moved to the rhythm of the stars. It was truly a magical and memorable experience for all our Reception children.

PREP SPORTS STARS
As part of our important transition process from the Pre-Prep to Prep School, each year the Year 2 children are offered the opportunity to attend a Prep sports activity in their final weeks of Year 2. Run by our wonderful Year 7 and 8 students, the Year 2 children had a fantastic time learning how to play new games and took part in small team matches. A popular activity was learning how to play volleyball, a new skill for many of our Year 2 children and Bulldog was the firm favourite as the best warm-up game. We look forward to seeing the Year 7 and 8 students again next week.

THAI LANGUAGE LESSONS
Our Pre-Prep students have continued to make wonderful progress in their Thai language lessons, engaging in a variety of interactive and creative activities.
Reception children successfully learned the final two letters of the Thai alphabet, อ and ฮ, expanding their vocabulary through an active hopscotch challenge. They also mastered numbers 1 to 5, enjoying games like “I have number... who has number...” and proudly recognising Thai numerals.
Year 1 students focused on final consonants, showcasing their creativity by crafting short stories inspired by pictures and participating in engaging quizzes. They further consolidated their learning with a hands-on craft activity related to the topic.
Meanwhile, Year 2 students enthusiastically explored different tastes, demonstrating excellent recall in a lively "fruit salad" game where they matched tastes like “priew” (sour) to fruits. These engaging sessions ensure our students develop a strong foundation and a love for the Thai language.

SUPERHERO DISCO
To round off our exciting Transition Day, the Reception children enjoyed a fantastic Superhero Disco – and what a fitting way to end the day. There was music, dancing and plenty of fun as our Reception superheroes celebrated their bravery and confidence in stepping up to Year 1. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and happy giggles in the assembly hall. The children truly deserved this special celebration after demonstrating such courage, enthusiasm and engagement during their visit to their new classes.
Well done, superheroes – you’re certainly ready to fly into Year 1.
