RST IN TOP 10% OF SCHOOLS GLOBALLY
We are delighted to share that RST has been recognised in the top 10% of schools worldwide for A Level progress, according to Cambridge’s Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM). This benchmark, used by leading institutions such as Eton and Winchester, measures the value a school adds beyond students’ baseline ability.
To be ranked so highly - indeed within the top 7% of international schools - confirms the transformative impact of our teaching and pastoral care. This is a moment of real pride for our community and a testament to our students’ ambition and diligence.

RUTE'S INTERNSHIP AT IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON
This summer, Rute (Year 12) joined the Imperial College Global Summer School on the Medicine and Life Sciences track. He experienced university-style lectures and hands-on sessions, including ECGs, suturing and venipuncture, as well as clinical simulations at St Mary’s Hospital.
In the laboratory, he explored DNA analysis and genetic modification using fruit flies, which helped him reflect on his future pathway in medicine. A particular highlight was the Global Innovation Challenge, where his team won first place with their design for a wearable health-monitoring wristband. The programme gave Rute valuable insight into university life, while also offering opportunities to connect with peers from around the world.
Please speak to the Higher Education team if you are interested in learning more about university summer courses.

SIXTH FORM BLAZERS
We’re excited to launch a new blazer for our XX (Year 13) students this year, which you can see the Levée wearing below. Produced in collaboration with Lord's Tailor, these blazers feature a customisable inner lining, allowing each student to add their character to the design.
Lord's Tailor is the Narang family business; Sasha and Ronnie Narang are alumni who held roles as Head Girl and Head Boy at RST, so the collaboration also celebrates ties with our thriving alumni community.
We hope this distinctive addition to our Sixth Form will be worn with pride during our students' final year and treasured long after their School journey ends.

FIRST SENIOR ASSEMBLY
In our first Senior Assembly of the year, Mr Groves welcomed new students and staff to the School, and reflected on the Chinese proverb 水滴石穿- “Dripping water penetrates the stone, not by force, but by persistence” - encouraging everyone to consider how small, repeated actions can lead to long-term success.
Captain was announced as Secretary General of the Model United Nations, while Rute and Prinn were recognised for being finalists in the John Locke Essay Competition.
Tanya (Head Girl) and Prinn (Head Boy) then introduced the Levée, our student leadership team, before some of them spoke about the Rugby Learner Profile character traits: Dragon on Resilience, Ah Ra on Reflection, Namhom on Communication, Korya on Versatility, Pat on Inquisitiveness and Captain on being Globally Minded. It was a valuable opportunity for students to hear directly from their peers and reflect on the traits that underpin both personal and academic development.
Thank you to our talented student photographer, Bunn, for capturing the event.

PARENTAL CONCERNS
If you have any concerns about your child - or about another child - please speak directly with your child’s class teacher. They are best placed to follow up, gather information and respond appropriately. It is not suitable to contact other parents directly or to raise concerns in group chats.
At RST, we work closely with families to support children’s behaviour and wellbeing, and we will always inform you if your child is involved in an incident. School is where children learn how to build friendships and navigate social situations; teachers guide this process every day, recognising that some children need more support than others.
If your child shares a worry at home, please reach out to the class teacher so we can follow up promptly and discuss the matter with you. By working together, we can create the best possible learning environment for every child.

SETTLING INTO EYFS
Wow, what an amazing second week our students have had in Early Years. The children in Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception have all been very eager to explore their new classrooms and meet all of their teachers and friends. They have launched into their year group topics and are beginning their learning journey.
The topic in Pre-Nursery is 'All About Me', while Nursery are diving into the topic of 'Marvellous Me' and Reception (who you can see below) are learning all about 'Understanding My Feelings'. Everyone is looking forward to all the fun, learning and excitement that will be had in the year ahead.
If you want to keep up with your child's learning in School, you can visit the EYFS Curriculum Website.

EMBRACING LEARNING IN KS1
It has been an absolute delight to open our Year 1 and Year 2 classroom doors and have Pre-Prep once again filled with the wonderful sounds of laughter, friendship and learning.
Over these first couple of weeks, we've seen the students settle well into their new classes and routines. Whether reconnecting with old friends or making new ones, the enthusiastic Caring Koalas and Go for it Gorillas have set a fantastic tone for the term ahead. We are all Proud Peacocks of how the children have embraced the start of the year.
Following our recent parent curriculum mornings, it was wonderful to see such positivity across our community - and to welcome the new families joining RST. We value the vital partnership between home and School and look forward to a successful, rewarding year together.
Key Stage 1 presentations are now available on Touchline.

A SUNNY START IN IE & EAL
Our Intensive English and EAL programmes have got off to a super start, filled with fun and new friendships. Our first week was all about making sure every child felt happy and comfortable in their new classroom. They had a great time with 'All About Me' activities, establishing friendly routines and jumping into a learning adventure with songs and games to practise colours, numbers and letter sounds.
Building on that happy start, the second week saw confidence grow as the children explored different topics. We learned new words for things in the classroom and parts of the body, all through fun activities and creative play. It has been amazing to see students begin blending sounds to read their first words and start expressing their ideas in simple sentences.
We are very proud of how well everyone has settled in and can't wait to see you all flourish in the year ahead.

Boarding Life
Boarding
Last weekend, all of our full boarders - girls and boys, years 6-13 - enjoyed a fantastic first ‘Sunday Funday’ trip. The afternoon kicked off with some fierce but friendly competition on the bowling lanes, followed by a sunset meal on the beach at one of our favourite restaurants, Bacco.
It was wonderful to see our full boarders forging new friendships across the year groups and houses! This event was a great reminder of the strong sense of community we have in boarding.
This Sunday, the full boarders will be heading to Laser Battle!

Marshall House has started 'Buddy Presentations' this week, which is when two boarders are paired at random and asked to do a short presentation on each other to the House. It's a brilliant way to help everyone get to know each other.
A big shout-out to Chloe and PK, who were first up to do their Buddy Presentations and did an excellent job!
