OUR AMAZING VISITING MUSIC TEACHERS
Do you know that we have 27 Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) who travel to our School each week to teach individual instrumental lessons? Our music programme is one of the strongest in Chonburi, so we'd like to shine a light on it.
From Year 1* to Year 13, students can choose from 17 instruments, with 335+ individual lessons taking place weekly. Our VMTs are highly accomplished musicians, many of whom perform with Thailand’s Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.
Mrs Duncan, our Whole School Music Coordinator, says: “We’ve built a team of outstanding musicians who share their expertise and passion with our students. Quality teaching is at the heart of what we do, giving every child the chance to grow in skill, confidence and their love of music.”
Read more about our VMTs and individual lessons on the link below.

SENIOR SCHOOL WAI KRU
The Wai Kru ceremony is always a highlight. In Senior School, the ceremony was led by our Head Boy, Prinn, and Head Girl, Tanya, and it featured readings in multiple languages to celebrate the diversity of our community.
As part of the tradition, student representatives present teachers with plants, along with the challenge of keeping those plants alive! Staff who had successfully cared for their plants since last year were recognised on the day with prizes awarded by Mr Groves and Mr Grindlay.
In his closing remarks, Mr Groves shared: "At Rugby School Thailand, we believe that learning is never a one-way street. Just as our students learn from us, we learn from them - through their ideas, their questions and their energy. Education is about building a community of learners, young and old, who are committed to growth and to keeping their minds open for life."
Thank you to Bunn for capturing another School event so beautifully.

GLOBAL UNIVERSITIES FAIR, PATTAYA
Last weekend, the Higher Education department co-hosted the ERUC Global Universities Fair. The event drew over 120 university representatives from across the globe, as well as over 200 students from the Pattaya area. During the event, Mr Simmons led a panel discussion to a packed room on writing a great application essay for the US and UK. Two key tips mentioned were to start early and have someone you trust review it.

PRE-PREP WAI KRU
Our Pre-Prep came together for a wonderful Wai Kru ceremony, which included our EYFS and KS1 children, teachers and support staff. The children showed their understanding of the tradition by learning about the meaning of Wai Kru and the special flower symbols used in Thai culture. To make the occasion even more memorable, the Thai department prepared a thoughtful gift for our teachers and staff, beautifully presented by our students. Thank you to all involved.

CARING KOALA DAY
As everyone settles back into the rhythm of a new School year, the children have been thinking about how to be Caring Koalas. Being a Caring Koala means following the 'Koala Way': always trying to use our gentle hands, listening ears and walking feet, and being polite and kind to everyone.
This week, we had Caring Koala Day, where the children took part in lots of challenges to show how well they could follow our 'Koala Way'. Year 2 were amazing at holding the door open for their friends and teachers; Year 1 were brilliant at keeping their classrooms tidy; EYFS children were very polite, saying "hello", "goodbye", "please" and "thank you". We were all so impressed with our colony of amazing Caring Koalas!

Boarding Life
Boarding
HOUSE BADMINTON
Our boarding House spirit is never more evident than at House competitions, where you see the camaraderie that comes from living together. Here are some photos of Rupert Brooke and School House boarders in action during the House Badminton this week, where even those who had barely played before were willing to give it their all for the House!

MARSHALL HOUSE TEAM HOODIE CHALLENGE
This year, Marshall House boarders have been allocated to five different "teams", who will work closely together in their groups to look out for one another, do collective House responsibilities and gain team points in various games and challenges. Here are the teams gathering to work on a Marshall House hoodie design challenge... which group will win and have the excitement of seeing their design being made? More updates soon!

LIFE BEYOND BOARDING
Boarding life is full of fun and opportunities - but where does that take you beyond our boarding school? Over the next few weeks, we'll highlight some of our recent boarding graduates, showing you where they are now and how boarding helped them reach their full potential. Here, Mr Ennis-Billing tells us why he thinks Teru achieved so much through boarding in School House:
“Teru arrived at RST full of ambition but with little English; he threw himself wholeheartedly into full boarding life, immersing himself in the language and culture with real determination. Boarding gave him the space and support to dedicate time to his passions - and what he achieved was remarkable: Captain of Volleyball, Gold DofE, EPQ, athletics... and he even became a BTS dance master, creating a brilliant video that encapsulated what a tight-knit, fun community boarding is!
As House Captain for School House, he set the standard with his proactive drive and exemplary attitude, and we hope the younger boys will carry his spirit forward. A stand-out student.”
