COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT ON KHUN PII
Khun Pii is one of 27 highly accomplished Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) and gives piano lessons to our students. Watch this short spotlight video to find out more about the wealth of experience he brings to his teaching.
RAF BRASS QUINTET
Last weekend, a brass quintet from the Central Band of the Royal Air Force visited from the UK and gave a workshop and concert to around 150 students and parents in the Veraphan Theatre. It was an excellent opportunity to hear some wonderful brass music in lots of different styles, and it was fascinating to be shown how to play each instrument and hear different playing techniques. We hope this is the start of a great relationship between RST and the RAF. We look forward to welcoming them again in the future.
Thank you to Mr Duncan for capturing photos of the event.

RSTPA CHARITY GOLF DAY
The annual RSTPA Charity Golf Day took place last Sunday at the beautiful Siam Country Club, Waterside. With over 100 golfers, the day was a fantastic celebration of sport, community and generosity. Thanks to the incredible support of Porsche Centre Pattaya and our many other sponsors, the event was a great success, raising significant funds for this year’s chosen charities.
Special congratulations go to our Rugby School Thailand student team, Power Rangers (Ryan, Arfu, Bright and Oliver), who put in an outstanding performance to finish as overall winners. We extend our thanks to all players and sponsors, and to Fore Management for helping make this event such a memorable occasion.

HEAD'S DISTINCTION
The Head’s Distinction is awarded to students nominated by teachers for going ‘above and beyond’ in the classroom or an activity in or out of School; students who have embodied one of the Learner Profile attributes. These students meet with Mr Groves to share their achievements over chocolate milk and blondies.
This week, Mr Groves met with Rute, Captain, Vali, Mirabella and Si Hyun to congratulate them on their performance in MUN, where they were awarded an Honourable Mention. Thank you to Dr Field for nominating the students and for running the MUN activity.

BREAK TIME ZONES
Break times are about more than simply pausing between lessons; they are moments where our students learn, connect and grow together. We want students to use these times to practise their English, build friendships and develop the social skills that are just as important as academic success.
With this in mind, we have carefully designed our Senior School spaces to balance productivity with relaxation. Each area is designated as either a 'Social Zone' or a 'Productive Zone'.
Read our blog to discover more about these new zones.

FUTURE PATHWAYS
'Breakfast Briefings', 'Lunch Lectures' and 'After-School Sessions' are a new series of university and career-focused talks. These sessions will offer both students and parents the chance to learn more about university, career and future opportunities.

SENIOR SCHOOL ASSEMBLY
Last Friday, Mr Groves led the Senior School assembly, which was filled with an impressive range of student achievements and initiatives.
Students were recognised for their successes in a variety of areas: UKMT Maths Awards, Biology Olympiad results, LAMDA certificates, and certificates for completing an internship at Phayathai Hospital. The results of the Chinese Writing Competition were also announced, and five students - Bene, Jiew, Chennai, Bunn and Narna - received the prestigious Outstanding Youth Award from Chonburi Youth Services for their work raising money and supporting the community in the 'We Care, We Build' outreach project. We are proud of the range of opportunities and the breadth of success our students achieve, both in and out of the classroom.
A group of students also introduced the launch of the new tuck shop, explaining that all profits will be donated to a charity chosen by the student body.
To close, Mr Groves spoke on the theme 'Pressure is a Privilege'. He reflected on what life would be like without any pressure at all, and the importance of learning how to respond when we feel under pressure. He reminded students that pressure often comes from having goals worth striving for, and that asking for help can be an important and positive step.
Thank you to Bunn for capturing photos of the assembly.

HULT MASTERCLASS
On Tuesday, we welcomed Mr Calle Torén, V.P. of Finance & Operations at Hult International Business School, for a Masterclass on the importance of cultural awareness.
Intertwining both personal and real-world experiences, Mr Torén discussed how leveraging cultural differences will help us succeed both in the workplace and in university.

CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE
As the festive season approaches, we are once again supporting our charity partner, 58:12 United Foundation Thailand, with their Christmas outreach programme. Each year, the foundation distributes gifts to bring joy and hope to local children, and we are proud to continue our commitment to this cause.
Earlier today, our students heard from Freda, an outreach worker from the foundation, who shared how these gifts can make a real difference in the community. Her talk gave students valuable insight into why our support matters and how their contributions help others.
To take part, each year group has been asked to donate a different type of gift, noted on the poster below. Please ensure all donations are brand new so every child feels truly special.

MUSIC RECITALS
The Prep School Music Recitals were a great success, with nearly 60 performers from across the School taking part. It was especially exciting to see so many Year 3 students confidently step onto the stage for their very first recital.
The audience enjoyed a beautifully varied programme, with a wide range of instruments reflecting the diverse musical interests and talents of our students. Every performer impressed with their fluent playing, a clear result of many hours of dedicated practice. Both teachers and parents were proud of the high standard on display.
If your child learns an instrument outside of RST and you would like them to take part in the recital on Tuesday, 12th November, please register using this link by Friday, 31st October.
Please note: If your child has instrumental lessons at school, their teacher will register them. You will be notified of their performance time by Friday, 7th November.

CAN-STRUCTION CHALLENGE
The MAD Juniors are thrilled to launch a new charity project: CAN-Struction Challenge!
This fun, hands-on initiative gives our children the chance to practise teamwork, problem-solving, and creative engineering - while making a real difference in our local community.
How it works:
- Donate cans: Families are invited to bring in non-perishable canned food items.
- Build together: Children will use the donated cans to design and construct sculptures, towers, and other imaginative structures. It’s a brilliant way to combine creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking (a truly can-structive experience!).
- Give back: Once the challenge ends, all cans will be donated to the Hand to Hand Foundation to support families in need.
How you CAN help:
We’d love your support in making this challenge a success! Please donate unexpired canned food (vegetables, beans, soups, tuna, etc.). No nuts, glass jars, boxes, or perishable items, please.
- What: Donate (canned goods only)
- When: 6–10 October 2025
- Where: Collection boxes will be outside the Pre-Prep office

RUPERT BROOKE
A sneak peek at a typical evening in Rupert Brooke, our wonderful Senior School girls' boarding House.

LIFE BEYOND BOARDING
Boarding life is full of fun and opportunities - but where does that take you beyond our boarding school?
This week, we're shining a light on Nina, who many will already know as our outgoing Head Girl. Jennie Windsor, Houseparent in Rupert Brooke, tells us about Nina the boarder...
"Nina made the most of every moment beyond the School day, whether it was an early morning gym session to set herself up for academic demands, a sociable evening run with friends from RB, or time in the music studios preparing for her next concert. Boarding allows you to do these things, and she seized every opportunity!
She was a wonderful leader in the House, showing the girls just how much RST has to offer. The experiences she gained from her open-minded approach would have given extra depth to her Brown application. We wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter in the US."

Sport & Enrichment
PUPPY CUP SWIM MEET
This weekend, 33 of our Prep swimmers took part in the Puppy Cup Swim Meet at Bangkok Prep. For some, it was their first-ever swim meet, and they stepped up with great courage and determination. For our more experienced swimmers, the meet provided a valuable opportunity to focus on sprint techniques and set a strong example as role models for the rest of the team.
There were outstanding performances across the board, with many swimmers achieving impressive personal best times, half of the team scoring team points, and some swimmers taking home medals.
Congratulations to every swimmer who participated. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and team spirit!
