FAREWELL
Today, we bid farewell to a number of staff who have taken positions, both back in the UK, and internationally. We wish them every success in the future and thank them for their years of service to RST and our community.
LXX END OF YEAR CELEBRATION
Last night, we held the LXX end of year celebration at the Amari Hotel. The LXX gathered for an international buffet dinner, followed be some games of 'weirwolf' and karaoke.
It was great to see our hard working Sixth Form let their hair down and have some fun. Renditions of YMCA and country road will live long in the memory!
Speech Day
Last Saturday, we held our annual Senior Speech Day for all students, parents and members of the RST community. We were lucky to be joined for the occasion by our School Governors, including those from Rugby School, England. The Executive Head of Rugby International, Mr Peter Green, gave his address, which inspired all those in the room to remember that there is always a way to get to where you want to go... you just have to find it.
Prize-giving itself was led by Mr Bruce Grindlay (Principal) and Khun Taya Teepsuwan. There were awards for students recognised in all areas of School life including service, sport, music as well as prizes for academic diligence and achievement.
Acting Head, Mr David Ennis-Billing spoke about progress, about growing one's soul, and gave a glimpse of the many and varied ways in which our students have achieved progress in their own very individual ways throughout the year.
The ceremony itself was drawn to a close by the outgoing Heads of School passing on their leadership to incoming Head Girl and Head Boy, Pun J and Albert S, before parents enjoyed photographs of our wonderful graduates and shared refreshments together to end what was a wonderful event for all.
The Rugby Ball
It was wonderful to finally be able to host a celebration for our graduating class that included the whole of the RST community. Governors, owners, senior management, staff, parents and our graduating class had a fun filled night that will last long in the memory.
MasterChef
Last week, MasterChef students created edible flower spring rolls (a fresh, and deep-fried version). They are now ready for their ‘Final Table’, which will have a ‘Graduation Party for Y13' theme, and they will serve a selection of canapés and finger foods.
Tudor Support for Local Elephant Sanctuary
This past week, Lily S (Service Sixth) and Sandie B from Tudor House, visited a local Elephant Sanctuary to donate 3600THB raised by students of their house during the third term. Mrs Miller and Mr Maurice are incredibly proud of their students for taking the initiative in this charity fundraiser and for making a tangible difference in the community.
Learning
SPANISH
In preparation for their Speaking IGCSEs next year, E block students prepared and learnt scripts for their topic ‘At the Restaurant’:
MANDARIN
F Block Mandarin classes produced a booklet that introduces a variety of Chinese characters to readers. Students used images that combined the shape and meaning of the characters, allowing readers to appreciate the pictographic characteristics, and fun, of Chinese characters!
The booklet is a fantastic end-of-year project, where students applied their ICT and design skills, with their knowledge of Chinese, in a creative way.
You can view the completed booklet, by clicking on the link below:
BIOLOGY
The LXX class have been learning about ecology and the different techniques ecologists use to sample a range of environments. Last week, students explored the use of quadrats for the first time, by estimatimating the abundance of different plant species we have on our campus:

Learner Profile Week
During the last week of term, Prep students have been putting our Learner Profile Characteristics into practice with 6 outstanding activities over the 3 days:
- Students were ‘Versatile’ at the Outdoor Education Centre, learning to zip line, fire arrows, make fire;
- They were ‘Thinkers’ at the lake, working out how to turn some poles, barrels and ropes into a raft to cross whilst staying dry;
- All had to be ‘Communicators & Collaborators’ as they took part in team building activities, such as orienteering, survival games and stretcher races;
- To help our students understand better how to be ‘Globally Minded’ they visited the beautiful, multi-faith ‘Sanctuary of Truth’, where they got to carve sculptures that will be placed inside the museum in the future;
- To create great art our students had to be ‘Reflective’, looking back at the work of great artists to inspire them to create some amazing pieces;
- A hike through the jungle to show ‘Resilience’, was followed by a well-deserved Pool Party for all the students.
Overall, this week has showed our students what they can achieve by using all the different character traits and how the Whole Person is the Whole Point.

FAREWELLS AND WELCOMES
We have a number of staff leaving us, and a fair few joining us. Please click on the link below for more information:
PARENT WORKSHOP
If you were unable to join our workshop earlier this week, please have a look at the presentation below:
Year 1 Summer Show
Year 1 sang their hearts out this week as they performed a variety of ‘Whole Me’ inspired songs. Through ‘Celebrating Differences’ in Turtle class, to ‘Healthy Me’ in Starfish class and Monkeys singing all about ‘Relationships’ we learnt all about our Year 1. They celebrated with loads of energy, and it was lovely to have parents in the audience.
Year 2 Leavers' Assembly
Year 2 gave us a collection of singing, dancing, poems, speaking and memories, all rolled into one. We had piano pieces from Minnie, Prod and Pim that were superb, and each class gave a spectacular performance to their parents. We got to see a presentation of photos, from the past to the present, and even saw the teachers on stage singing too!
It was a time to say goodbye and well done, to our Year 2 as they complete their time at Pre-Prep and move onward with their journey to the Prep and Year 3. It has been a blast!
It was also a special time for some of the Year 2 children who have been with us for 5 years, joining in 2017-18 when we opened. Then little, often crying Pre-Nursery children, they joined us in the Monkey or Gecko class, and now they leave us as grown-up Year 2s. Such a transformation, we are all so proud of them!
We wish all the Year 2s the best of time in Year 3. Always try your best in all you do!
Pre-Nursery Goodbye
What a wonderful School year we have had this year; it has been so lovely having the little ones back in, full of smiles and chatter! We have learnt so many new things since starting School; how to say good-bye to our families each morning, how to play with our friends, as well as learning to be more independent and do many things for ourselves. Wishing all the Pre-Nursery families and friends a safe and happy summer.
Nursery Goodbye
What a wonderful year we have had in Nursery! The Parrots, Elephants, Ants and Owls have grown and blossomed into amazing young people. They are excited, engaged learners, who love to communicate, collaborate and explore the world around them. It has been our pleasure to be their teachers, and we wish them all the best as they move forward into Reception.
Reception Goodbye
What a wonderful year it has been for the Bears, Giraffes and Pandas. This year, they have been on a world tour adventure, explored what it would be like to be an astronaut and thought hard about what sort of superhero they would like to be, including the superpowers they would like to have. Wishing everyone a lovely summer holiday and look forward to seeing you all in Year 1!
Year 1 Goodbye
Firstly, we wish to thank you all so much for your support and flexibility during another interesting year of restrictions.
You should all be so incredibly proud of your children – because we are! We are blown away with their progress; they have all flourished into independent thinkers, with a thirst for learning.
They sang their hearts out during our end of year concert, proving just how much they have grown. They are certainly ready for year 2, and we wish you all the best of luck and happiness.
Year 2 Goodbye
Wow - what a fantastic year we have had Year 2! From starting online, to finishing with our fabulous leavers' performance this week, you have all been superstars. Your hard work, and determination to succeed, have made your teachers proud, and it has been a pleasure to watch you learn and grow. Your enthusiasm and curious minds have made you excellent learners, and we will miss you next year. Good luck on journey as you move into Year 3; may you continue to have lots of learning adventures.
Miss Kirsty
