Highlights of the Week
This week, Year 3 students were tasked with making paper aeroplanes (a task related to our English unit) using video tutorials. This activity challenged our children to:
- work independently and become problem solvers;
- practise their fine motor skills using Google Classroom as a learning platform;
- work through the feelings of frustration and learn about the importance of a growth mindset;
- understand why resilience is an important attribute as a learner;
- develop working relationships with their peers
We’re impressed with the start they’ve made and are excited to see them soar!
Year 5 science students presented their projects on habitats around the world. They had to find out all about the plants, animals and food found in each habitat:

Highlights of the Week
YEAR 2
Our Year 2 children have been real Exploring Eagles this week, learning all about oceans and continents. They asked some really interesting questions and enjoyed finding out the answers to those questions. In maths we started to learn about place value, counting by 10 and tens and ones. We were also Creative Chameleons by painting some amazing ocean scenes and maps.
PE
In Year 1 PE, we began by exploring 'throwing' and 'catching', practising 'self-toss' and catching at various heights. We enjoyed a lively game called "The Cookie Monster Tag" and honed our hand-eye coordination skills. We also targeted underarm throws at designated points. It was an exciting start to our Pre-prep PE year!

Enrichment
BAKING CLUB
Our Y7-F Block students had a great time making some delicious chocolate chip cookies in Baking Club this week.
ECO-QUEST
This week, Eco-quest started their journey by exploring the prep area of our School site. We looked at the plants and animals that are living around the buildings and discussed how it may be different since the School was built. Our quest destination was the eco garden where we looked at all the things growing there and how it has provided a home for nature.
CROSS COUNTRY
We had our first KS3 cross-country session this week, where loads of very keen and super-fast athletes enjoyed running on the Wisdom Trail.
Boarding
Boarding is back, bigger and better than ever. Friendship, fun, screen-free time and lots of community spirit, boarding at RST gives young people much space to grow and gain confidence while learning about themselves and others.
Last weekend, as well as enjoying plenty of downtime on campus, our full boarders spent a fun evening down at the Outdoor Education Centre, and also ventured down to Jomtien Beach for bowling and pizza; the community spirit really shone throughout.
Enrichment Achievements
Time (Year 1) had an eventful summer filled with achievements. He not only secured multiple piano competition wins but also excelled in swimming competitions. In the Nong Prue Championship 2023, Time earned two gold medals for the 25m Breaststroke and 25m Freekick, along with a silver in the 25m Freestyle. Additionally, he clinched a 50m breaststroke award in another competition. Time is undeniably a gifted young boy who had a bustling summer of success!
