EXAM PREPARATION AND EXAM STRESS
As we enter this crucial time of the academic year, when the XX students are about to embark on their study leave and LXX students are preparing for their AS examinations, it's essential to acknowledge the significance of this period. Achieving success during exams demands resilience, dedication, and the ability to reflect on one's progress to ensure reaching maximum potential.
Now is the time to "Get the Job Done."
Our 6th form students have been equipped with various resources to combat exam stress, including intervention sessions, the self-regulating SEAF document for organising pre-examination work, and numerous sessions on revision techniques and stress management. However, achieving success ultimately requires students to take charge of their well-being and apply effective stress-reducing techniques. Here are some tips that can benefit not only examination students but everyone:
Set Achievable Short-Term Goals: Break down your study tasks into manageable chunks and set achievable goals. Celebrate each accomplishment, as it will foster a positive mindset and motivate you to progress further.
Digital Detox: Consider blocking notifications for a designated period, allowing yourself uninterrupted study time. Enjoy brief moments of connectivity as rewards for your focused efforts.
Embrace Challenges: Don't shy away from subjects or topics you find difficult. Approach them with the same enthusiasm you reserve for your favourite topics. Embracing challenges fosters growth and mastery.
Nourish Your Body and Mind: Fuel yourself with nutritious meals, and don't forget to indulge in occasional treats to maintain balance. Remember, a healthy body supports a healthy mind.
Prioritise Sleep: Ensure you get adequate rest, as sleep is essential for cognitive function and memory consolidation. Avoid starting new topics close to bedtime to promote quality sleep.
Guard Your Thoughts: Steer clear of negative thoughts and conversations that may trigger self-doubt. Surround yourself with positivity and supportive peers who uplift and encourage you.
By implementing these strategies and supporting each other through this challenging period, we can navigate exam stress with resilience and achieve success. Remember, we're in this together, and together, we'll get the job done.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS
On Saturday, we hosted our first Model United Nations (MUN) conference and the inaugural ESAC MUN. MUN is an important way for young people to learn about how the real UN operates, and develop communication, research, and negotiation skills. Find out more about the conference, and two vital issues that were debated, here.
ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND CHILD ABUSE CENTRE
Recently, eight Senior students visited the premises of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Centre (ATCC) in Nong Prue. They were met by Kru Noja and the children under his care, and they delivered a short tour of the neatly maintained premises. We learned that many of the children are from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, and have escaped trafficking, forced child labour or severe abuse of some kind.
On behalf of Town House, Joshua donated 12,000THB to ATCC, which we were told was urgently needed for payment of electricity and maintenance bills. Kru Noja delivered a talk about the children who have found sanctuary at ATCC, their previous lives and their hopes for a better future.

HEAD’S REFLECTION
Term 2 has seemingly whizzed by, but we packed so much into it. We began in January with our Children's Day visit by Hand to Hand and the wonderful donations you made. These kind donations continued with our recent RICE challenge, which has been a great success across the School. Thank you for all your contributions to the wider community.
Your support as parents has been fantastic this term – our Dental Hygiene Day provided information on oral hygiene for the children and parents, run by our very own team of dentists. Excellent performances at Lunar New Year also showcased our parental talent!
We celebrated 100 days of School with a Maths focus, STEAM DAY, World Book Day and a special author visit in March. Reception, Nursery and Year 2 all had trips out (Year 1 next term). In the middle of all that is the fantastic teaching and learning experiences. I have been amazed by the reading and writing taking place in Reception, where they are learning those first important skills. Year 1 has astounded me by their progress with Talk 4 Writing with Intensive English students achieving so much in a short space of time. Year 2 has developed that ability to question and investigate, wanting to learn as much as they can. Pre-Nursery and Nursery show such huge progress with independence that it is easy to forget they are so young.
I thank all the staff at Pre-Prep for their hard work, and the parents for their continued support of all we do. I know Term 3 will bring more fun and learning.
Have a safe and happy Songkran. See you all on 22nd April.

Boarding News
ANOTHER GREAT TERM IN MARSHALL HOUSE!
It's been a busy, buzzy term in Marshall House! We've welcomed new Assistant Houseparents, Mr Dehann and Miss Lurica, as well as some new boarders; everyone has settled in really well.
There has been the usual array of fun evening activities with our fantastic duty staff -baking, 'Zombie Apocalypse' tag, dodgeball and Marshall 'merch' design, to name a few - and we've also hosting sleepovers for Year 7 and Year 8.
We've seen our boarders collaborate on a special project, creating 'The Marshall Code' poster as a symbol of our shared values; they've visited Take Care Kids to donate the money we raised in Term 1; many have dedicated themselves to extra training for FOBISIA; and Year 8 students poured their hearts into rehearsing for 'We Will Rock You'.
Weekends are always a blend of adventure and relaxation. This term the full boarders have done wakeboarding, cinema trips, bowling, board games, swimming, horse riding, laser battles, and trips to Dreamworld and Aquaverse.
It's been a great term of creating memories and strengthening bonds, and we look forward to the next, where we will be saying hello to several new part, weekly and full boarders!
Sport & Enrichment
Sport
Last weekend was a busy day for our students (and staff) with a variety of different tournaments in multiple sports taking place, which showcased the opportunities available for our students to represent the School:
FOOTBALL
Our U13 and U15 boys' football teams played in two friendly matches at home against Pattaya Academy. Both games were played in a good spirit, and the quality of our impressive students shone through with two victories.
BASKETBALL
We hosted our U9 BISA Invitational. It was a morning of fun-filled and exciting basketball as our young students played in front of a packed Webb Ellis Centre against a number of schools that had travelled down from Bangkok. A special mention to our girls A team, who finished in joint first place.
Our U11 boys’ and girls’ teams travelled up to Bangkok to play in their respective BISA tournaments. As always, they represented the School in an exemplary fashion and showed the progress they have made over the year, playing some excellent basketball.
NETBALL
Our u13 Girls netball team played in their BISA tournament at Kings College, Bangkok. They managed to win all but one of their games and came home with a bronze medal. A very impressive performance from the girls.
TOUCH RUGBY
We were invited to take part in the BMAC U11 Mixed Touch Rugby Tournament at Bangkok Patana and our young budding rugby players had a fantastic experience. Even though most of the team was made up of Year 5 students, and they were up against some older students, they still managed a very impressive 3rd place to claim the bronze medal.
BADMINTON
Our U19 badminton team travelled up to Harrow Bangkok to compete in their BISA tournament. The standard was very high, but all of our players performed well, and should be proud of their efforts.
SWIMMING
Our dedicated swimmers across the School carried on their busy schedule, this time swimming at the Puppy Dash Meet at Bangkok Prep. As usual, there were some excellent performances from our students in the pool.
We are very proud of all the students who represented RST at sport this weekend (Over 120 in total!)
Enrichment
ADVANCED ART ACTIVITY
Advanced Art Activity students started their mural on floor 3. The planning phase is over, we've finished sketching the design and painting is under way! We look forward to the big reveal soon…
YEAR 2 FOOTBALL ACTIVITY
Throughout this term, some of our F Block students have been joining our football activities as part of their Duke of Edinburgh awards. This week, F Block students delivered a fun and engaging final session for the girls. Well done F Block and Year 2!
GOLF
It was an excellent day for our RST golfers at our own Invitational held at Laem Chabang. Thank you to all the schools that competed and Fore Management, who organised another fantastic International School's Golf Tour event.
Notable mentions:
Putter Boys Flight A – 1st place
Makoto Boys Flight B – 2nd place
Sunny Girls Flight C – 2nd Place
RST golf team 3rd overall.
