UNIFORM SWAP
Our RSTPA rep Alena, and Angelique, once again organised our very popular uniform swap. Parents handed over 72 items and exchanged for 98 items. 17 items were also sold, adding 1700 THB to our School’s charity funds.
As this was so well-received, we will run another uniform swap next term.
Thank you to Alena and Angelique for giving up their time to make this possible.
RST SWIM TEAM END OF THE YEAR PARTY
The RST Swim Team celebrated the end of a fantastic year with a party last Wednesday. This event was an excellent way to conclude a successful season for our swimmers. THE RUGBY BALL 27th JUNE
This year's leavers' ball will take place on Thursday, 27th June at the Hilton, Pattaya. The theme has been chosen by the XX students and will be a Hollywood-style 'Premère Night'.
Highlight of the Week
F BLOCK THAI CULTURE TRIP
Students explored the rich history and stunning architecture of Wat Phra Kaew, the Grand Palace, and Wat Phra Chetuphon. Guided by experts, they delved into the intricate art of Thai temples and the profound beliefs that shape Thai culture.
ART EXHIBITION
Congratulations to our IGCSE and A-Level artists whose work was exhibited in the end-of-year exhibition. Being an artist takes not only creativity, but also dedication and commitment. Many of our students feel that much of their time is spent in the art studios. Thankfully, with so many other enrichment activities on offer at RST, they learned the art of time management.
Congratulations on producing some incredibly personal, extraordinary, work that is also thought-provoking and challenging. We look forward to celebrating individual students' successes very soon.
RUGBY UK EXCHANGE: THAI LANGUAGE LESSON
"Sawasdee kha / Khrab". This greeting echoed warmly from our Rugby UK students on Monday afternoon, marking the beginning of their cultural immersion in Thailand. Their excitement and enthusiasm were palpable as they embarked on their first Thai lesson.
During the lesson, students delved into the intricacies of Thai greetings, customs, etiquette, the Thai anthem, currency, and the taste of fruits. They quickly picked up the traditional greeting, "Sawasdee kha / Khrab" and learnt "Thao Rai" ("how much?") which they practised with each other and the locals.
Read more about the Rugby UK students’ experiences here.
BAKER MCKENZIE: CAREERS IN LAW
Established in 1977, Baker McKenzie has enjoyed 47 years of unparalleled success in Thailand, consistently supporting RST with lectures and work experience opportunities.
During their visit to the Bangkok headquarters, our students engaged with senior and junior partners, along with associates, who shared their wealth of experiences in the legal profession and of studying for a law degree. This provided our students with invaluable insights into the process of practising law in Thailand, the journey of studying law both locally and in the UK, and the dynamic day-to-day life within a global corporate and commercial law firm.
You can read more here.
KICK START PROGRAMME
Last week, our LXX students embarked on a productive and enlightening journey through the two-day Kick Start programme. Designed to equip them for their upcoming university applications in their XX year, this programme seamlessly integrates with the comprehensive Whole Me initiative, enhancing the students' preparedness for higher education.
During the Kick Start programme, students engaged in a variety of informative and interactive sessions. These included supra-curricular activities and workshops aimed at honing academic research skills. The programme featured external speakers from renowned institutions such as the University of Warwick (UK), Linfield University (US), York University (Canada), Austrade, and One Education (Australia). These experts provided valuable insights into studying in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and Thailand, offering students a global perspective on higher education options and how to craft a compelling application.

Highlights of the Week
YEAR 3
This week, our Year 3 students showcased their creativity and engineering skills by completing a fantastic soap dish project. After designing their own unique soap dishes in Term 2, they used 3D printing technology to bring their creations to life. But that's not all! They then went a step further, demonstrating their woodworking skills by crafting beautiful wooden frames to hold their 3D printed projects.
This project was a fun and rewarding experience for students, allowing them to develop their design thinking, problem-solving and technical abilities.
We're incredibly proud of their hard work and their creative soap dishes, which they're sure to love showing off at home.
YEAR 5
Year 5 have enjoyed their lino carving and printing project, based on the amazing artist, Jen Stark. This week we finished our final project of the year, having great fun using ink and rollers to create these wonderful prints. We hope you love them as much as we do!
To see our last Prep art exhibition of 2024, come and see the great Art Show by Year 3 & 4, outside the Prep theatre all this week.

Highlights of the Week
MOVE UP MORNING IN THE PRE-PREP
Last Friday, the children in the Pre-Prep spent the morning visiting their new year groups. They spent time in the different classrooms, meeting the adults that they might work with next year, and learning all about what it's like to be in their new year group. Reception got to play in the Key Stage One playground, which they were very excited about, and Year 2 went up to Prep, which was an amazing adventure for them. There were lots of smiley faces and happy children when they returned to their classrooms after playtime.
SUPERHERO DISCO
Our Reception Superhero Disco was a fantastic success. The afternoon was filled with fun, costumes and dancing, making it an afternoon to remember for all our little superheroes. The children came dressed as their favourite superheroes, showcasing their superpowers on the dance floor, with music and lights. It was wonderful to see all the amazing costumes and the joy on the children's faces as they danced and played.

YEAR 5 SLEEPOVER
Marshall House was full of buzz on Friday night, with its biggest sleepover yet! 55 Year 5 students enjoyed dodgeball, CGA games and a pool party, before re-fuelling with a delicious barbecue. The rest of the evening was free play in the house, so everyone could make the most of Marshall's facilities and soak up the extra time with friends.
SCUBA DIVING TASTER EXPERIENCE
The Marshall House full boarders have had the opportunity to do a fantastic scuba diving taster experience with 'No Limit Divers' in Pattaya. The first session took place in the CGA pool and focused on getting familiar with the kit while learning the basic skills needed for diving in open water. The second session involved a day trip out towards Koh Larn, where they were able to put their learning into practice with an open water shallow dive.
It was a fantastic experience, made even better for spotting a variety of sea life including three large puffer fish!

FOOTBALL
Both our u9 girls’ and boys’ football teams played in the Bulldog Cup at Bangkok Prep this weekend.
The morning session was all about the girls. RST competed against 5 other schools, all from Bangkok. The competition was tough, but our strong, determined, and skilled group of girls took the fight head-on. They eventually managed to get to the final, which went to a penalty shootout. The girls held their nerve to claim the top spot. Their sixth tournament win out of 6 this year. An incredible effort!
The boys were up against 11 other teams in the afternoon. They showed tremendous teamwork and resilience to finish in a very respectable 5th place, and more importantly, they had lots of fun doing so.
Congratulations to both teams!
