NEW TEACHERS
This week, we're excited to introduce even more talented teachers who will be joining our School community in the new academic year.
Tilly Sirijanya
Tilly is a new teacher at our School who enjoys rugby, badminton, and lacrosse. Inspired by Jessica Ennis, Tilly has a deep passion for sports and fondly remembers participating in various sporting events throughout her secondary school years. Tilly's secondary school PE teacher played a significant role in shaping her dedication and perseverance, pushing her to her limits and providing the motivation she needed to succeed. Tilly is eager to bring this same level of encouragement and support to her students, fostering a love for sports and physical activity.
Amy Hutchison
Amy, a seasoned educator with 14 years of teaching experience, has a passion for volleyball and beach volleyball, drawing sporting inspiration from Roger Federer. She cherishes the moment Cathy Freeman won the 400m gold at the Sydney Olympics, a memory that fuels her commitment to sports. Amy is dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of physical activity in her students, inspiring and encouraging them to stay active and healthy. Her goal is to create a supportive and dynamic environment where every student feels motivated to participate and enjoy the benefits of physical exercise. Amy's dedication to her students' well-being and enthusiasm for sports will make her an invaluable asset to the School community.
Miriam Davies
Miriam, with 2 years of teaching experience, enjoys athletics, triathlon, and cross country, drawing inspiration from Natacha Océane and Serena Williams. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS IS COMING TO RST
RST has secured the rights to the 'Off-off'-Broadway monster hit 'Little Shop of Horrors' for our Senior Production next term. 'Little Shop of Horrors' is a horror comedy rock musical with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and a book by Howard Ashman. The story follows a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that has a taste for more than just Motown, Doo-wap and Rock'N'Roll music.
Inspired by B-Movie Sci-Fi films of the 1950s and 60s, this will have a smaller cast than our previous shows with audition packs available on all Senior Google Classrooms and the Drama Student Website. There is already a full student pitband and lots of opportunities to get involved with the set and puppet design which helped make the 'Off-off-Broadway' stage show and 1986 movie a monster success.
Auditions are on Wednesday, 28th August (in the Black Box) and Show Dates are 3rd, 4th and 6th December. Please contact Mr Furness or Ms Duncan for more information.

SCHOOL OF ROCK THE MUSICAL PERFORMANCE A SELLOUT SUCCESS.
All of Key Stage 3 and an audience of over 500 Parents, Staff and Students attended the first KS3 Musical. This showcased some of the best in Year 7, Year 8, F Block and E Block telling the story of Dewie Finn (based on the Jack Black Movie), an apparent 'substitute' teacher who takes a more traditional school to the Battle of the Bands and endearing them to the spirit of Rock.
Please find photos for parents and videos from our Youtube Channel. Featuring an all student pitband, backstage and RST Tech crew. The project featured two student-led casts and already people are asking when's the next one.
Mr Furness and Mr Sunderland are not giving any possible clues away but were heard saying 'Here We Go Again…'

The Year 4 students put on a fantastic production of Peter Pan! Their impressive performances and enthusiasm brought the beloved story to life, captivating the audience and showcasing their talents.
PREP SUMMER CONCERT
Congratulations to the nearly 100 performers at this year's Prep Summer Concert. The audience strapped in for a musical journey through a myriad of musical genres, ensembles and styles. The concert was a terrific showcase of the hard work and effort that the students have been doing. Have a well-deserved break, relax, rest and recover over the summer to prepare for an exciting year ahead.
SUMMER FAYRE
Our first ever Summer Fayre was a fantastic success, filled with fun activities. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event memorable.
DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
Website design and documentation has been a huge part of our cutting-edge Design and Technology curriculum with students in Year 4 starting to learn the basics of building a website to showcase and evaluate their work by creating an online digital portfolio.
With digital portfolio content growing each year and additional subpages being added as students start a new project, we see strong development from Years 4 to 8 as well as students wanting to challenge themselves with advanced digital presentation skills and the inclusion of at-home-work or holiday projects.
We now see individual students skilled in the ability to track, document, compare, present, photograph and evaluate every step of their project work through the use of their digital portfolio. The areas they cover include early research work in the form of digital poster collages, rendered sketch work on paper, 3D CAD models, digital renderings using Procreate, manufacturing and final promo photography making use of editing software.
Our screenshot examples show the work of students from Years 4 to 8 but represent what all of our students have been producing.

Messages from across Pre-Prep
PRE-NURSERY
What a wonderful School year we have had this year; it has been so lovely watching all our little ones adapt and settle into School life, full of smiles and chatter. The Fish and Rabbit Classes have learnt so many new things since starting School; how to say goodbye to our families each morning, how to play with our friends, as well as learning to be more independent and do many things for ourselves.
Wishing all the Pre-Nursery families and friends a safe and happy summer.
NURSERY
What a wonderful year we have had in Nursery. The Butterflies, Zebras, Parrots, and Owls have grown and blossomed into amazing young people. They are excited, engaged learners who love communicating, collaborating, and exploring the world around them.
It has been our pleasure to be their teachers, and we wish them all the best as they move forward into Reception. Miss Jessica, Miss Lauren, Miss Tracy, and Miss Carmen wish you all a great holiday.
RECEPTION
What a fabulous year we've had in reception; lots of learning through play and growing up too. The kids are all super excited for next year in Year 1 and the teachers will miss you all dearly.
Good luck and please come back to visit us in Reception!
YEAR 1
In a class filled with joy and cheer,
Our time together ends, my dear.
Year one, we say goodbye,
With happy memories, you and I.
We learned to read and write with glee,
Counting numbers, one, two, three.
Painting pictures, colours bright,
Laughing together, what a delight!
We explored the world, near and far,
Stars that twinkle, creatures bizarre.
We asked questions, eager to know,
Year one was a wonderful show.
Let's celebrate this special year,
With laughter, learning, and cheer.
Year one, it’s been fun,
You’ve soared high like the sun!
So many things we’ve learned to do,
Now go and enjoy adventures in year two!
A very special thank you to all of our Year 1 children and families. It has been a memorable year and we are grateful for your support. Have a wonderful holiday together. Enjoy a well deserved rest and we will see you when you are in Year 2.
YEAR 2
What a fantastic year we have had in Year 2! So many amazing memories throughout the year. The swimming gala, STEAM day, our wonderful trip to Space Inspirium and 100 days of School, to name but a few. And who can forget our amazing Christmas production of No-one Wraps Like an Elf? Thank you, Year 2, for being amazing children all year. Good luck in Year 3 and don't forget to come and say hi.
Here are a few words from your teachers:
A big thanks to all the children, parents and guardians in the Dolphin class. We have had wonderful support from everyone, working together as real ‘Teamwork Tigers’ to ensure a successful year.
Mr John - Dolphins
Thank you Hedgehogs for being amazing this year. I wish you all the best of luck in Year 3.
Ms Wendy - Hedgehogs
Thank you Flamingos for a wonderful year full of friendship, new learning and lots of amazing experience. It was a pleasure teaching you and I wish you all the best in Year 3.
Ms Lurica - Flamingos
Thank you Rhinos for being such amazing students this year. I have really enjoyed being your teacher and you have made me smile and laugh every day. Remember to be good, dream big and always try your best. I will miss you all. Good luck in Year 3 and beyond.
Mr Chris - Rhinos
Good luck in Year 3!
MAD JUNIORS
The MAD Juniors would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who supported us this year.
We believe we made a big difference wherever we went. Thank you for helping with all the donations; from books, toys, clothes, shoes to diapers, toiletries, rice and dog food. We appreciate every donation, and together we all made a difference in someone’s life.
A special thank you to the MAD Juniors who learnt even more about being a Caring Koala, and that making a difference can be as simple as saying ‘thank you’. They enjoyed serving our community through various acts of kindness through the year; from making sandwiches for RST staff, picking up rubbish, washing dishes to cleaning toilets and writing thank you letters.
Have a wonderful holiday, and remember, we can always make a difference!

SPORTS LEADERS INTRO
We are delighted to share the success of our Junior Sports Leaders Intro course this term. Some of our Year 6 and Year 7 students took on the role of leaders, organising and running exciting games and activities for our Year 2 children. This initiative not only provided the younger students with a fun and engaging introduction to the Prep environment but also helped our Junior Sports Leaders develop valuable skills in leadership and teamwork. Well done to all involved for making this transition period a memorable and positive experience for our Year 2s.
ADVENTURE EXPLORE SURVIVE ACTIVITY
Last week, the Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 AES students embarked on their Mini Adventure Hikes through the forest trails of Khao Mai Kaew. Armed with their newfound AES skills, the students hiked with all their equipment, taking in iconic viewpoints before descending to the campsite.
The highlight for many students was showcasing their camp craft skills – setting up camp and cooking their own lunch. From pitching shelters to preparing meals, and cleaning up afterwards, their resilience, enthusiasm, communication and collaboration shone through. This half-day hiking experience not only tested their practical abilities but also nurtured a deeper appreciation for nature and the ever- changing forest environment.

SWIMMING
The RST Swim Team participated in the 7th Swim Star Swimming Championships 2024 at VERSO International School on 22nd – 23rd June. Initially planned to reinforce team racing skills and assess this year's swimming progression, the meet turned into a fantastic showcase of the swimmers' hard work and improvement.
The event was not only a triumph for the swimmers but also a demonstration of exceptional team spirit, as parents donned matching kits and collaborated with the coaches to support the athletes in achieving their best performances.
